More Motorbike family fun time!

Recently my younger daughter and I have been hanging around the garage shop. We've been riding all of our various wheeled conveyances. Bicycles, skateboards, push scooters and her little Razor MX350 electric dirt bike. The smiles and stories we have been telling at dinnertime must be rubbing off on my wife and older daughter. So much so that they have expressed interest in getting out and having some Motorbike fun. That is a sentiment that I fully support and so we come to the topic of this post.
Time to make the My Motorbike Obsessions a family affair! To be honest, it has always been a family affair. My wife has supported my motorcycle habit for some time now. She brought my girls to my first race and even recorded it for me. Now that my girls are older and active, we need to expand the fleet. Here is the big box from Amazon that will do just that!
This little beauty is a Razor MX650. It is the big brother to the MX350 I mentioned earlier and the biggest bike in the Razor lineup. It has a 650W motor and runs off 36V vice the 24V of the little bike. It is rated for a 220 lb (about 100kg) rider and speeds up to 17 mph (27 kph). It is noticeably larger than the MX350 and even has full front and rear suspension. It is about the size of a small pitbike. Somewhere in size between a 50cc bike and a 110cc bike. I fit on it much more easily and don't bottom out the suspension with my 200 lb butt. Before we ride however, I had to finish the assembly. The only things to attach are the front wheel, fender, handlebars and front number plate.
I hauled the bike onto my Harbor Freight dirt bike stand and went to work. I didn't use the included tools since I have a full tool box at my disposal. It only took 30 minutes to get everything together and to give it a good once over. The batteries had a good partial charge. My first rips on it had me smiling. Even with the MX350, I was surprised at how well these bikes move too-large-for-them adults. The front and rear brakes are mechanical disc type and work well with a nice light two finger pull. The throttle is much more progressive compared to the on-off switch of the MX350. The throttle has a power and a full/low battery indicator.
Here are both bikes together. The MX650 doesn't dwarf the MX350, but it does make it look like the toy that it is. The bigger wheels and tires (12" front, 10" rear) and the suspension combined with the bigger motor make it so much more fun for me to ride. I can fit better and don't get my knees caught up in the handle bars. Both my girls rode the new bike. My older daughter fit just as easily as I did and found the power to be a bit intimidating. She'll get used to it with practice. My little one and I fit onto the bike with ease and after a few speed tests with a speedometer app show that together or by myself, the top speed is about 15 mph.

Now we can see about getting the family out for some Motorbike fun. I have already found plenty of info on speed freaks that hop these bikes up with bigger motors and higher voltage. My little one and I are having a blast. I am thinking about getting a second one to hop up for me. Add in some flat track tires and some stiffer suspension and I'll have a potential Mad Dog class bike. If you have the notion to get your kids into motorcycles, I recommend the Razor dirt bikes. They are fun, fast and cheap. They are quiet enough to not annoy your neighbors. They can teach your kids the basics of riding with little risk, both physically and financially. You might just end up with a garage full of them like I probably will. Ride safe friends!

    1. I saw that video. Some of his mods will most likely end up on this one too!
