What to do...

When you just get tired of working while you are stuck at work. You play with your desktop motorcycle toys!

I got bored at work yesterday. I had finished my tasks and was close to getting out for the day before my travel. It was still too early to leave, but late enough that I didn't want to start on any new work. I broke out my iPhone and played around with taking close ups of a couple of bike models I keep around my workspace so that I can keep my Motorbike sanity while forced to earn a living.

I pick up bike models whenever I travel. It is a way to relate work with Motorbikes when I can't get into the shop to turn wrenches. Here is a 1971 Ducati 500 GP that I picked up at the Sand Diego Automobile Museum. They have a great motorcycle display of motorcycles with some cool race machines. The up close photo ability of my iPhone is so good you can see the copies amounts of dust on the model. I need to clean my office.

Another shot playing with the autofocus lock feature on my iPhone. Since I got my new Nikon I've been on YouTube searching for tips and tricks to get better photography. This was one of the shots I am practicing for when I get  chance to take the Nikon out to shoot some bigger bikes.

Here I've paired the Ducati with a nice model of a Japanese Honda ST1300 Police Bike. This is a neat little toy that I got on a trip to Japan to visit family. It is produced by a company called Tomica (pronounced Tommy-kah) and they make the Japanese equivalent of a Hot Wheels or Matchbox Car. The neat thing about Tomica is that the cars they make are regular cars produced by Japanese automakers. If you've been to the Hot Wheels section of the toy store lately, you've seen that the cars are fantasy cars with wild designs and crazy colors. Tomica makes regular sedans and passenger cars as well as trains and other transportation toys.

I leave you with this parting shot of the ST. The iPhone autofocus lock really got the Honda logo on the model's tank. I am leaving for travel this morning so it may be a few days (weeks) before I can get back to the blog. Hopefully I'll find some Motorbike related content to share. Stay tuned!
